Stoopid program
Didn't update blog for a long time, maybe the steam has died down plus I don't really know what to write. Last week have been trying to run simulations, but end up been told by sup that he wanted an automated program that can run 500 to 1000 times within a very short time! So sian, because the past few 200 times that I ran the simulations were iterative, as in I need to see what is the intersection between the two graphs and then sub back into the program to run again. So, you can see that it takes up a lot of time just to cut and paste into the excel files (for the results) and then paste into the program to run it. Well, out of desperation, called up my godbro to ask him how to write such a program even though he's having a paper on this sat. Fortunately, he only has one paper to prepare else I will feel so guilty to interrupt his revision. Unfortunately, since he didn't dabble much in matlab, he couldn't help me write the program, so end up gotta ask jia. Feel so bad to impose on her even though her job is so hectic. No more modelling of mathematical models! Feel so much like vomiting blood while doing the only mathematical model in my own life!
Well, since my programming skills are nothing much to be spoken of, since I have a japanese test this sat, might as well make use of the time to study the 1st semester mid term test. Well, initially it was refreshing to study it, since it's like a totally new subject to me. But after repeating over and over again, I felt so bored even though my sentence structures ain't that strong. Really touched that nekki came over and helped me to get some of my words and counting of numbers correct, even though he caught very few winks last night. Thanks dear!
So tomorrow will be meeting jia to discuss over the fate of my program, hopefully there's some progress! *crossed fingers*
tired + meeting up with frens
Past few days was feeling shack out..too tired to do anything or go online to even chat. Mainly because on tues nite, suddenly got informed last minute that I gotta finish all my data collection. So I was rushing to finish plus having to prepare for wed tutorial class. In the end I only manage to sleep at 1.30am. I guess due to the effects from having insufficient sleep at chalet, adds on to the tiredness. On a brighter note, met up with ping, faith, LM and SN at somerset in the evening on wed. SN wanted to eat korean food, so we went to the korean restaurant at heeren. The prices were pretty reasonable..even though we thought that the portions were pretty small..we ended up being pretty full and didn't even finish the fish. After that we went to cineleisure's M cafe to have some deserts.
SN has went to japan to study for JLPT1 and 2 for 1 year, so it's pretty great to catch up with her when she came back in march. Learnt that she's finding job with japanese companies, either as japanese trading coordinater or marketing personnel. Think it's pretty cool to do that, cos some days ago, I saw a japanese bank advertising for japanese speaking coordinator, so it's great that one can apply the new language learnt, yet at the same time immerse in a new culture. On the other hand, ping has came back from her master studies in Australia, and has found a job as a biostatistican. Really feel abit envy when I look at them, cos they are able to experience new things through studying abroad. But then, the minus side to studying overseas is to miss friends and family. I have always thought of furthering studies for masters overseas, but after choosing to take my masters in school and attached, that thought somewhat dissipated. I guess I have to make up for it through more travels? hee..
As for LM and ping, they are currently working..LM was complaining about how heavy her workload is..which I think is pretty scary, cos if she didn't clear it during weekdays, her weekends will be burnt trying to clear it. Sigh..I don't wish to have such a job..guess I'm the kind who wants to have some social life yet at the same time having a satisfactory salary.
On the whole, it was pretty great catching up with them..can't wait to meet up with them next time!
weekend chalet
It's been a very long time since missing in action from blogging. I was away in chalet (organised for bball seniors) from sat till today..was dead tired and shack. Hee..let me recount the events for the more happening dae: On sat, after going to jap lesson whereby as usual, was bombarded with lots of new vocabulary and sentence structures, went to meet nekki to go to white sands to buy tibits before going down to check into the chalet.
This time, we got a corner unit, and just behind it, is the wild wild wet theme park! Really nice view plus we can observe whether we should go play it since we got free tickets. And the best thing is, there's no door cojoining the unit beside it so we won't be disturbed by noisy neighbours! Hee.. Key and Zim were the first two to arrive, followed by chest. We first played xbox game hunter..whereby the graphics were quite lousy although the storyline was good. Every time one part of the game ended, we will be faced with a "king". Find that the "king" quite stoopid, because the king will just choose to chase one of us, so in order to kill him efficiently..the suay player needs to just lead him run round and round while the rest simply stands in the centre and shoots him till he died..so dumb haha.
After that, jimmy arrived and the 4 of them started to play mahjong while nekki and I played chinese chess before eating dinner. Originally, we wanted to eat the chicken rice stall that was opened by the former chef of Chatterbox. But it was sold out..so we ate other food. After going back to the chalet..daniel arrived. Nekki and him got engaged in their conversation on magic cards and they even went to his home to get the magic cards. By then, the rest of us decided to play NBA xbox game...4 of us in 1 team against the comp. It was more fun being in 1 team rather than 2 vs 2 players, cos the comp will be super lihai and we will be very stressed by each other in trying to beat it hee... But in the end, we finally did it and narrowly won the game.
Kang, snow and weihao (many thanks to the latter 2 to buy the drinks and tibits!) soon arrived and we started playing our all time favourite game: DOA3. Strangely, even though we have started playing the game 2 years ago, we still enjoyed playing the game even though the game has existed for quite a long time. We still enjoyed challenging each other through using different characters and trying to excel in the characters chosen. The game has started to be more of a pyschological game whereby we will try to guess what the opponent will do, and I guess that makes it so fun to play.
Last minute, we decided to impromptu celebrate jimmy's bdae by asking daniel to buy a chocolate cake when he came. So..jimmy was very surprised and happy and here's the group photo taken:

William couldn't come to the chalet since it was quite late, so we saved a slice of cake for him when he came over the next dae.
After that, we continue to play DOA and I couldn't resist the Z monster and slept first even though the rest were trying to make me awake haha..So in the midst of half awake and half asleep state, I remembered seeing chest, nekki and daniel playing magic cards while the rest were sleeping. The next time I awake (it was already sunday liao), saw daniel playing DOA and then nekki went over to join him.
Basically for the second day, some of us played citadel which william had brought while some played mahjong. The second day was less happening since most of them went home to sleep so just left the 4 of us watching tv and sleeping on the 2nd nite.
So..right now..feeling very shack..think no chalet for the time being!
